Bio
  • For those of you that don't know me, my name is C. Shane Deaton, and I am a history teacher here at Stuart Pepper Middle School in Brandenburg, Kentucky. I was born in Louisa, Kentucky on September 18, 1973 but I grew up in Winchester, Kentucky.
  • I currently reside in Vine Grove with my dog Ella.
  • I am the only son of Paul and Karen Deaton of Winchester, Kentucky.  My father was an Agriculture Extension Specialist for the University of Kentucky.  He retired in August of 2006.  Dad gave me my sense of fairness, honesty, and tenaciousness.  My mother has always been a housewife and instilled in me my love of books and movies, my passion for life, and my love of children. They live with their Boston Terrier, named Winnie.   I have one sister, Jenni, who lives in Louisa.  She works for a bank in Inez, Kentucky.  Her husband, Scott, is an English teacher at Lawrence County High School.  They have three children:  Kaitlyn, Jessalyn, and Ashlyn.  My best friend, Scott, who is more like a brother to me considering I've known him since eighth grade, also resides in Winchester.
  • When I'm not teaching, my hobbies include reading, watching old movies, and pulling for the Cats, Braves, and Colts.
